Sara Takanashi Vows to Revenge at PyeongChang 2018

●Nathan Shiga: October 31

Japan’s super woman jumper Sara Takanashi can’t quite shake off the humiliation of finishing 4th in the last winter Olympics, vowing to take revenge at PyeongChang 2018.

Six athletes met the press on October 31 each voicing readiness to play the best at PyeongChang 2018. The legendary man jumper Noriaki Kasai and the Nordic hopeful Akito Watanabe etc. accompanied Sara at the press meet.

Sara has won 53 jumps in the World Cup so far to level with the all-time high record and is expected to boost her record at PyeongChang. Sara commented:

“I’ve failed a lot of times and learned that it’s in me that I have to trust.

“I know I must have firm faith in me each time I jump. PyeongChang 2018 is a great opportunity for me to try to see what I can do.

“I finished 4th at the last Olympics and that drives me to make sure to take revenge this time.”

The 45-year-old legend Noriaki Kasai who has rewritten his own record of the most aged medalist told the press:

“Of course I’ll go out there to renew my own record and I hope to work up an image to drive myself to accomplish that end – leading, hopefully, to the brightest medal of the game.”
